Florencio Lopez, age 87, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Lopez is preceded in death by his parents Alfonso and Ramona Lopez and brother Margarito Lopez.
He leaves his loving wife of 65 years, Diamantina (Rodriguez) Lopez; his daughters, Aracelia Lemos, (Jose), Hilda Talamantes, Diana Martinez, (Jose Luis), Lydia Martinez, (Rudy), Sandra Elling (Gaylord), Maria Esther Inocencio (Eduardo), 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. His siblings; Rodolfo Lopez (Mary), Consuelo Gonzalez (Victor+), Luis Lopez (Priscilla), Alfonso Lopez (Rita), Beatriz Leal (Alfredo), Valentin Lopez (Cynthia), Margarito Lopez+ (Elida), and Ramon Lopez (Yolanda).
Mr. Lopez was a veteran of the Air Force and worked at Uniroyal for over 30 years. He lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with family, always willing to help others, barbecuing and tending to his garden. In addition, he was an avid Cowboys fan. He loved the outdoors and was very active.
The family will be receiving guests Monday, April 13, 2020, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will start at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at the Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services chapel. A chapel service will officiate at 10:00 am. Interment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Selena Stuart, Dr. Ricardo Cigarroa, Guilding Light Hospice and Superior Nursing Care.
