Evangelina Vangie R. Hinojosa

Evangelina “Vangie” R. Hinojosa went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 12, 2011 at the age of 81. She entered peacefully into eternal rest with family at her bedside.She was registrar at J.W. Nixon High School for 20 years before assuming directorship of the pilot program Las Palomitas now known as Home Health Services with Carlos Villarreal as administrator in the early 1970’s. She later managed Woodlake Apartments until her retirement.She was preceded in death by her son: Dario Hinojosa, Jr., in 1968 and her husband: Dario Hinojosa, Sr., in 1978 who was a member of Martin High School historic 1946 Eleven Iron men football team.Mrs. Hinojosa is survived by her sons: Richard (Sandra) Hinojosa of Brownsville, Mike (Sara) Hinojosa of Long Beach, CA, daughters: Debrah Lamar Hinojosa of Laredo, Aetna Jo “Joey” (Fred) Buitron of Laredo, Brother; Andres S. Rodriguez, sister’s; Alicia Mendez, Julia (Earnest) Leyendecker & Rosa Rodriguez, brother-in-law; Hector (Norma) Hinojosa, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.Visitation will be held at Fred Dickey Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Fred Dickey Chapel at 9:00am. Pastors Richard and Mike Hinojosa officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Fred Buitron, George Buitron, Elizabeth Jo Garcia, Averie Jo Buitron, David E. Garcia & Hector Hinojosa.Honorary Pallbearers are Richard Hinojosa Jr., Gabriel Hinojosa, Mike Hinojosa Jr., & Cristopher Hinojosa.
