ESTELA S. GONZALEZEstela S. Gonzalez passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the age of 86. She was born in Laredo, Texas, June 11, 1925 and resided in San Antonio Texas from 1950 to 1978. She married Geofredo Gonzalez from San Ignacio, Texas in December of 1950.She was preceded in death by her mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez Serna; Father, Juan Serna; Stepmother, Luisa Serna; nephew, Alfonso Chavarria, Jr. and recently by her sister Ramona Serna Canales. Survivors include nephews, Gerardo (Irene) Canales and Ricardo Canales and nieces Maria Adriana C. Alvarado, Eva C. Casiano, Olivia C. (Roberto) Martinez and Syliva C. Booker.Estela and Alfredo had no children, but they took pleasure in caring as much as possible for their niece Adriana Maria Chavarria. They lived in Laredo for the rest of their lives and enjoyed Consuelo (Alfonso) Chavarria, Sr. children; Alma, Ana, Araceli, Alfonso, Jr.+, Adriana and Ariana.Family will receive friends and guests on Monday, December 19, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. A rosary will be recited in the evening. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services to St. Peter The Apostle Church. Holy Mass will be celebrated in the morning. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
