Esmeralda was raised in Mirando City. She moved to Laredo with her husband, Roberto, when they married. They began a beautiful family where she was a devoted mother to their children. She always enjoyed crocheting and crafts. Her kind soul always led her to help others in need. A beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend will be dearly missed.
Esmeralda is survived by her husband, Roberto E. Santos; children, Christine D. Santos, Kimberly A. Santos, and Ashton I. Santos; parents, Juan Alejandro and Ana Maria Bustamante; siblings, San Juanita (Ricardo) Gonzalez, Juan A. (Crystal) Bustamante, Jr., Maria A. (Ruben) Guadian, Adriana R. Bustamante; brothers & sisters-in-law, Sandra (Fernando) Guerra, Idalia (James) Newton, Gerardo (Amparo) Santos, Juan (Jesse) Santos, Jr., Belinda (Ernesto) Sanchez and Annette Cobo (Rolando), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives & friends.
The family will be receiving guests on Saturday, November 12, 2022, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Cremation will be held at a later date.

Dear Bustamante and Santos Families, I just heard the sad news today. I was still praying for her; although, I had not been on Facebook for a while. Esmer was a wonderful person as everyone who knew her knows. She was such a happy and bright presence yet tough when she needed to be tough. She will always be remembered as a great coworker to me back when she and I were both working at Killam Oil Company. Heaven gained an angel. We lost a friend. She was a great coworker and friend. She gave me a gift of one of her crafts and I will cherish it deeply. She made me feel welcomed at my new job and she was very kind. She will be greatly missed.

Dear Bustamante and Santos Families, I just heard the sad news today. I was still praying for her; although, I had not been on Facebook for a while.
