Elodia J. Villarreal, 93, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on, Tuesday, April 25, 2023. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lilia J. Molina, son in law, Johnny Moreno, and great-granddaughter, Aria Calvo.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, Rene Natividad Villarreal, children; Elodia I. Villarreal, Elva V. (Gregorio) Cantu, Rene Villarreal, Emma V. (+ Johnny) Moreno, four grandchildren; Michelle (Gerardo) Calvo, Greg Cantu IV, Shania L. Cantu, Derrek S. Cantu, and great-grandchildren; Ava, Alexandria, and Giovanni Calvo; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
Elodia dedicated her life to being a loving wife and an incredible mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her sense of humor would bring a smile to anyone’s face, even in hard times. Her passion to family was one of her many traits. She gave her heart to family. She will be greatly missed and will forever live in our hearts and minds. We love you mom.
The Villarreal family will be receiving condolences on Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be officiated at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. A chapel service will be held at 9:30 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rene Villarreal, Gregorio Cantu III, Greg Cantu IV, Derrek S. Cantu, Eddie Molina, and Gerardo Calvo.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to: Dr. Norberto Alvarez, Dr. Joseph Camero, and the nurses and staff at the Laredo Rehabilitation Hospital.
