Edwin G. Atwell, Jr.

Edwin G. Atwell, Jr., 52, joined the Lord, Saturday, January 12, 2013. Mr. Atwell born and raised in Laredo was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a retired City of Laredo Firefighter. Mr. Atwell was the type of person who wanted to be there for everybody and help everyone out and didn’t know the meaning of the word “no”. His love toward his family was unmeasurable. A true biker, who also loved traveling and camping. He is survived by his wife, Rosa Hilda Atwell of Laredo, children: Edwin Glenn Atwell, III of Laredo, Alegria (Romeo G.) Atwell Salinas of Dallas, Priscilla Irene Atwell of Laredo and Stephanie (Erick) Atwell Santos of Laredo, 2 grandsons, parents: Edwin Glen Atwell, Sr. and Estella V. Atwell, brothers: Kenneth Earl (Rosie) Atwell and Lyndon W. (Martha) Atwell all from Laredo, sisters: Esther V. (Lawrence) Huisman of Driftwood and Audrey (John) Reilly of Laredo. The family will be receiving guests today, Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A holy rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Saint Patrick Church. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Edwin Glenn Atwell, III, Lyndon Wayne Atwell, Romeo G. Salinas, IV, Kenneth Earl Atwell, Chris Perez, Jorge Landin, Ernesto Rodriguez, Jr. and Phillip Munoz. Full military honors will be provided by the Laredo Fire Department and flag fold presentation by the United States Air Force.
