Obituary

Eduardo D. Rodriguez, age 50, ended his earthly journey and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a courageous 8-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He joins his father, Raul Sr. and his brother Raul Jr. in God’s heavenly kingdom. Eddie, as he was affectionately called, was an avid outdoorsman and experienced hunter who loved and respected the land and all of God’s creation. The last South Texas brush county deer he shot was a big mature buck in the snow on December 24, 2004. Among many of his hobbies he enjoyed, were collecting Indian artifacts and American/Mexican silver coins. At an early age, Eddie took an avid interest in meterology. He was a member of COCORAHS (Community Collaborative Rain Hail, Snow) of the National Weather Service as a weather observer/reporter. He was also an official moderator of the “Texas Longhorn Community Forum on the internet. Eddie was blessed with an impeccable memory and could recall many historical meterological events. He always made an earnest effort to spend quality time with his loved ones at the family ranch and will be greatly missed. He attended C.L. Milton Elementary and Lamar Junior High School. In 1973, when his father was relocated to Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas, he attended Wolfforth Frenship High School. Upon his return to Laredo, he attended J.W. Nixon High School where he excelled in football and track. After his graduation from High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served stateside with the 28th BMW at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota and overseas with the 58th MAC at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Eddie is survived by his mother, Olivia D. Rodriguez, four brothers and two sisters, Alfonso, Rene, Ricardo, Antonio, Elsa and Olie. He is also survived by three nephews, Gilberto J. Rodriguez, Daniel Raul Rodriguez and John Rodriguez and two great nieces, Tiani and Beyonce Rodriguez. The Rodriguez family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and debt of gratitude to Eddie’s personal physician, Dr. Arturo Garza-Gongora, his personal RN, Alberto Arrizola with Laredo Hospice Care, Inc., Homecare provider Maria Francisca Carrillo with South Texas Primary Care, Inc. and the Fifth floor medical staff of Laredo Medical Center for their love, care and compassion during Eddie’s final weeks of life. Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the livng one; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades. Revelation 1:17-18 This was one of Eddie’s favorite Scriptures.

Reciban nuestras condolencias. En Revelación o Apocalipsis 21:4 dice que "Dios limpiara toda lágrima de los ojos y la muerte no será más, ni existirá ya mas lamento ni clamor ni dolor". Y en Hechos 24:15 dice que "va ha haber una resurrección". Jehova Dios muy pronto acabará con toda la maldad y el sufrimiento incluyendo con las enfermedades. Además nos dice que tiene el deseo de devolverles la vida a nuestros seres queridos que hayan muerto.
