Obituary

Duvina Rodriguez Lopez entered into eternal rest on October 10, 2020 at the age of 63. She will always be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Duvina was born on August 7, 1957 in Laredo Texas.

Duvina worked for LISD and retired after 25 years. She then went to work for United Day School until June of 2020.

Duvina is proceeded in death by her parents Jose P. Rodriguez and Minerva R. Rodriguez, sister Brenda Lynn Rodriguez. Duvina is survived by her loving husband Gerardo Lopez, her one and only son Jose A. Rodriguez (Saralicia), sibling’s brother Jose P. Rodriguez, Jr. (Maria Magdalena) and sisters Ruby Rodriguez, and Diana Rodriguez. Grandchildren Abigail, Jose Alejandro, Jose Arturo, Jr., Aaron and Carolina, Great-Granddaughter Calliope Jo. Nieces Brenda Lynn Rodriguez, Hailey Renee Garza, Nephews Jose P. Rodriguez III, Martin Joseph Rodriguez, and Rene Garza, Jr. Also surviving her are numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

One of Duvina’s greatest joys was to spend time with her family, she enjoyed listing to music and dancing outside with her loving husband. She also enjoyed attending baseball and basketball games of her grandsons, and dance recitals of her granddaughters. She will be truly missed by those who knew her and will forever live in our hearts.

The family will be receiving guests, Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

I am so sorry for your loss. Duvina was a woman of remarkable strength and determination. I saw her work under pressure with complete grace. I also heard her speak of the tremendous love she had for her family.
