Obituary

Dora J. Benavidez, 75, of Carrizo Springs, Texas, passed away on May 30, 2024, in Laredo, TX.

Our beautiful and loving mother was known for her boisterous laughter, independence, tenacity, vibrant green eyes, and being a self proclaimed artist. She was always dolled up and ready for any occasion. Her love for her children, grandchildren, son-in-laws, family and friends ran deep. Her generosity towards us all was endless. She was witty and always the life of the party. She was also protective, strong, intuitive, and supportive. Our Mother never missed a moment to pay us a compliment to brighten our day. She was our Mom. She will be dearly missed. As she would say “See you later crocodile, crocodile”

Dora’s passion was sharing her talents and gifts to pass on to her children and grandchildren. She found joy in teaching them to paint, draw, sew, cook, crochet and play ball.

Dora’s memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe Jaime and Catarina Ramon Jaime; brothers, Pedro Jaime and Guadalupe Jaime, Jr; nephew, Oscar Cesar Lozano and niece, Yolanda Jaime.

Dora is survived by her children: Silvia Ann Espinoza (Daniel), Corie Dilley (Javier), Lily B. Farias (Michael), Sandy B. Nava (Jose); grandchildren: Daniel Espinoza Jr., Onyx B. Espinoza, Christopher Lee Espinoza, Sabrina Maree Espinoza, Jared Kaine Dilley, Gavin Keifer Dilley, Alyssa Brianna Nava, Alexandra Nava, Christine Nava, Emma Nava, Ellie Nava; great- grandchild: Lisa Nicole Espinoza; siblings: Delia Olvera, Juanita Trevino, Catarina Lozano; and the beloved Jaime Family.

I have very fond memories of spending summers with my Aunt Dora and her daughters. I can vividly remember sitting in the kitchen listening to my mother, grandmother (Paula Calero), and Aunt Dora catch up on what had been going on in their lives at that time and swimming in the pool. I admired the softness in her voice and her poise. My sincerest condolences to my cousin. I cannot imagine the pain you all are enduring at this time. I pray for God to give y’all strength. Rest in Peace, Aunt Dora. You will be dearly missed. Amber Quiñones Pro & Family

Our sincerest condolences to the Benavidez and Jaime Families. You were blessed with a wonderful, compassionate, beautiful, and caring mother. I will always remember my cousin as a SURVIVOR and a classy lady with her elegant hats. Dora always carried herself with poise, grace and elegance. I witnessed her beautiful relationships and love for her loving daughters. They were her pride and joy and nothing was more sacred to her. She left them her legacy of love and kindness. I will miss our weekly texts and embrace all the wonderful memories, laughter, her sweet smile, and that calmness and patience that were her trademarks. God welcomed Dora into his loving arms and kingdom and said, “ Good job, my angel.” I wish y’all peace and comfort at this difficult time. All our love, Esther Quinones and Family

My Deepest and Sincerest Condolences to the family. I had just met Dora on April 3, 2024. She complimented me on my hat that I was wearing that day at our lunch bunch gathering. We enjoyed our meal and had pleasant conversations. We continued on our lunch dates 3 more times. The last one I attended was at Cheddar's on May 15th. We all talked and complimented our waiter Jeremiah for his service, we were 8 that day! and asked him about the Jeremiah was a Bullfrog Song. He laughed and so did we! In all, I enjoyed 4 lunch meetings with Dora. May she Rest in Heavenly Peace! 😇💗 Lovely lady!
