Dolores Martinez Estrada was called by the Lord on January 13, 2023. Dolores, or Lola as she was known by family and friends, was born on September 23, 1934, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamps. to Ramón and Maria de Jesus Estrada.
Lola was a lifetime resident of Laredo, Tx., where she was a hairstylist but her love of children drew her to work in local daycares. She enjoyed the company of her nieces and nephews and was often involved playing games with them. Lola was delighted when she became a nanny to Brian and Billy Cartwell whose parents were Bill and Dorothy Cartwell, local educators in Laredo. Dorothy Cartwell asked Lola to accompany family for a 3 month stay in Oregon to care for their children. This experience brought her much joy as she accompanied family on hikes, the beach, museums and nationals parks.
Later in life Lola became an avid gardner and and spent much time outdoors lovingly caring for her plants. She also spent time caring for her pets Sasha, Foxy and her cat Misty.
Lola loved doting on her great grand nephews Atticus and Adam who kept her active!
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings: Rosa Elia Jimenez; Maria Elena Estrada; Juan Manuel Estrada; Ramon Estrada and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Ramón and María de Jesus Estrada; siblings; Jose Estrada; Jacinta Estrada; Oralia Rosas; Juvencio Estrada and Ramiro Estrada.
