David Reyes, 44, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Mr. Reyes enjoyed spending time with his family and socializing with his friends. He loved to cook for his family and he still made barbacoa the old fashion way in the pozo. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita V. Reyes in July of 2009. He is survived by his wife; Veronica R. Reyes, his children; Candy Reyes, Jared Reyes, Alin Reyes, Venus Reyes, Geronimo Reyes, David Reyes, Jr., and Adriana Reyes; his father, Leonardo Reyes; his brothers and sisters, Jose Leonardo (Socorro) Reyes, Jr., Martha (Ernesto) Salazar of Mirando, Margarita (Martin) Brizuela and Sergio J. (Victoria) Reyes; nieces and nephews, Denise (Drake) Knight of Oklahoma, Jose Leonardo Reyes, III, Melissa & Angelica Salazar, Alejandra (Artemio) Pena, Martin A. (Teresa) Brizuela, Jr., Raquel Brizuela and Yvonne, Clarissa and Vanessa Reyes; Aunts, Dora (Daniel) Aguilar of Corpus Christi, Rosa Gonzalez and Rosa Maria Vela; and other relatives. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010, at Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services from 5pm-9pm, with a vigil for the deceased at 7pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 16, 2010, with a funeral cortege from Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services to San Luis Rey Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30am. Interment will follow immediately at the City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jose Leonardo “J.L.” Reyes, Jr., Sergio J. Reyes, Martin A. Brizuela, David Reyes, Jr., Geronimo Reyes, Martin A. Brizuela, Jr., Eleuterio Lopez and Javier Garcia.Funeral service arrangements have been entrusted to the funeral directors of Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services, 4502 Thomas Ave., Laredo, TX 78041, 956-723-3611.
