Pancho Benavides left a message on July 30, 2022:
Danny, you and I were very alike. In our lives we both woke up very early, you milked cows and I worked in a wholesale grocery warehouse. You did it in the morning before school and I did my work after school. We worked real hard. In our early years, we probably lived five blocks away but never really got to know you until we were in high school. We became close friends along with a lot of other guys during our high school days. We had a lot of good times. As we went thru high school, you became my protector and my inspiration because of your athletic skills and your strong family values. As life continues and our lives change we grow apart. I find it now so sad to see my closest friends leaving this earth. I miss the friendship that we all had together. Because life changes we go in different directions and forget about what we were until something tragic happens. I feel so sad and miss all of my friends that have passed away.
