Christino M. Bentiez went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2011. He was born in Bremond, TX.He is survived by his wife Josefina, his children; Mrs. Patricia Ann (Michael) Orr from Katy, TX,Mrs. Rebecca (Paul) Womack of Pasadena, TX, Mrs. Maria Christina (Terry) Brim of Dripping Springs,TX, Mrs. JoAnn (Eugene) Crawford of Laredo, Christian Michael Bentiez of San Diego, CA, Manuel Victor Bentiez of Laredo, TX, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; Brothers, Antonio( Tomasa) Barrera of Hearne, Peter Barrera, Luis Barrera and Philip (Tammy) Barrera all of Houston, TX.He is preceded in death by his father Juan Bentiez; his step-father Jesus Barrera; his mother Josefa; his first wife, Jovita; and a son, Christopher; his brothers Natividad, Cruz, Seferino Barrera , sister; Anna Dena Barrera and brother Ernesto Bentiez.He spent 22 years in the U.S. Army serving in Korea and Vietnam. After retiring , he work for the railroad, then Houston Power and Lighting. He went to work for and later retired fromU.S. Customs Service.He liked to read and fix things with his hands. He was loved my many and will greatly be missed.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Alzheimer’s Association,3429 Executive Center, Austin, TX 78731. The family will receive guests and family Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Fred Dickey Funeral Home and a rosary recited at 7:00pm. Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, December 15, 2011 at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church 12:00 noon.Funeral arrangements are by Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services, 4502 Thomas Ave. Laredo, Texas 956-723-3611.
