Obituary

Charlie’s love of decoration started at a very young age when he designed his first Wizard of Oz Theme float while attending Junior High School. He was very active with Webb Heritage Foundation, Victorian Heritage Festival, and Laredo Civic Music. He will be remembered for his Christmas Village & decorations at his house which he would open to the general public to benefit the Life Line of Laredo, Suicide Crisis Hot Line, and The Laredo Philharmonics. Most importantly, he would host a merinda for the children from the Sacred Heart Orphanage before he made it available for the public. His volunteer work includes giving his time and his talents to organizations such as, United Way of Laredo, Laredo Cancer Society, Casa Hogar Elim, SCAN, Children Advocacy of Laredo, The Laredo Little Theater and many charitable organizations around town as well as the Nuevo Laredo area. His love of gardening allowed him to create some of the most beautiful gardens around town. Charlie was most known throughout the community for his elaborate stage designs for the Society of Martha Washington, Princess Pocahontas, Laredo Little Theater, and parade floats he designed throughout the years.Charlie will be missed by all the lives he touched when he had a kind word or a small token of love he would give that would make a difference in their lives.
