Age 52 | Laredo, Texas
Carlos Alberto Golarte, lovingly known as “Charlie,” passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at the age of 52, surrounded by his devoted family in Laredo, Texas.
Our brother, Charlie was our friend, our confidant and was truly a gem. One of the most beautiful and rare treasures this world has ever known. He loved deeply and purely, touching every soul around him with his warmth, kindness, and generosity. He gave of himself without hesitation or expectation, always selfless and sincere.
Charlie was an eternal optimist and a brilliant mind; a researcher and innovator at heart. He saw possibilities where others saw problems. His light could brighten the darkest room, and his spirit lifted even the heaviest hearts.
We loved him dearly and always felt so privileged to call him our brother. While we will not get to enjoy his contagious laugh, his memories will be embedded in our hearts forever.
His favorite scripture was Psalm 23: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Carlos is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Alicia Golarte Canavati; his grandparents, Nicolas and Bertha Canavati; and his brother-in-law, Ronald Ray Hinojosa.
He is survived by his sister, Sara Hinojosa (+Ronald); brothers Adrian Golarte (M’lyssa), Nicolas Golarte (Rosie), and Jorge Golarte (Alicia); along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends who cherished his presence.
A celebration of Carlos “Charlie’s” life will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Fred Dickey Funeral Home, 1320 Trey Dr., Laredo, Texas. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A chapel service will be officiated at 10:00 am by Pastor Esther Gallegos. Interment will be held at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Charlie’s life was a testament to love, joy, and light. He will forever be missed and remembered with every beat of our hearts. Rest in peace our sweet, caring and loving brother.
