Bernardino Sandoval, 78, entered into eternal rest, Friday, February 14, 2025.
Mr. Bernardino Sandoval served his country proudly in the United States Naval Reserve as a Boats-main’s Mate Third and Second Class, Gunners Mate Third and Second Class, Military Requirements Petty Office Third and Second Class, Military Leadership (E-4), as well as receiving a National Defense Service Medal. Following his military service, Mr. Sandoval dedicated 35 years of unwavering hard work to Union Pacific Railroad, as a customer service officer. He also served as Union President for numerous years, guiding and representing his fellow coworkers. Bernardino was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas Sandoval and Luz Garza Sandoval, as well as his brother, Tomas Rodolfo (Maria Victoria) Sandoval and his sister, Ana Maria Sandoval.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Maria Luisa Sandoval, and his only loving son: Bernardino (Cristina)Sandoval Jr. His greatest pride, were his three cherished grandchildren, Clarissa L. Sandoval, Cassandra L. Sandoval, and Carolina L. Sandoval. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Gloria S. Pontius, his beloved brother, Manuel (Gloria Maria)Sandoval, along with numerous sister in laws, brother in laws, compadres, goddaughters, godsons, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will be receiving guests on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from the funeral home to San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Bernardino Sandoval Jr., Francisco Cabello, Rogelio Cabello, Roque Perez, Ricardo Noe Perez, Gustavo Salazar, Daniel Medellin, Armando Blanco. Honorary Pallbearers: Ricardo Cabello, and Rodolfo Sandoval.
