Obituary

Beatriz C. Perez, 96, of Laredo passed away March 11, 2020 peacefully surrounded by her children.

She was the beloved mother of Rafael (Sandra) Perez, Sylvia (Ricardo Jose) Benavides and Gloria B. Sandoval.

Beatriz was a life-long resident of Laredo.  She will be missed by the many family members and friends whose lives she touched daily.  One aspect of her life that made her so special to her family was how much of herself she devoted to her family which was always the most important thing to her.  Her children, her brothers and sisters, were especially close to her and that has left a tremendous void in our lives.

Mother, we always loved you as we know you loved and cared for us.  There is nothing in the world that could ever substitute for “Mom”.  We all mourn this loss, for you kept us together, unified as a family.  You led a hard life, always worrying about our well-being before your own.  You shed many tears for your children and now it is your turn to laugh and enjoy all the fruits of heaven while we shed our tears for you.  Mom, we hope and pray that you are taking advantage of all the beauties you’re experiencing with our Lord, and enjoy everything to the fullest, without holding back.  All your pains and sorrows are over and the rest of eternity is yours to live up and enjoy.

We will cry over losing you, as if it is the very least, we can do for your now.  Mom, you led a life in which you accomplished a grand goal, that of always being a great and honorable wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to us all. This is proof of the fact that you were one extraordinary lady, in every sense of the word.  We were always the gleam in your eyes, and you are ours.  Perhaps it is to late to say it, but we loved you very much.  Perhaps we didn’t do enough, but now you’re enjoying more than we could ever give.

She is survived by her children, 9 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one brother Enrique Cuellar, also numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving guests Sunday, March 15, 2020, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will start at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The funeral mass will start at 10:00 am. When we lose a love one here on Earth, we gain an angel in Heaven that watches over us. May you take comfort in knowing that you have an angel to watch over you now. My most sincere condolences to the entire family.

I remember such good times when Aunt Beatriz would come over to Mom & Dad's house or we would go over to their house. Loved playing with my cousins. Very very fond memories. Aunt Beatriz & Mom were the cutest. When they came to visit CA I would hear them laughing & giggling and just talking nonstop. Love always, Francine Burns (Walker)
