Obituary

Arnulfo A. Tamez, 77, was called to be with our heavenly Father on Sunday, January 20th.

Nufo, as he was affectionately known, was born in Comales, Tamaulipas, Mexico and proudly became a U.S. Citizen in 1996. He was the manager of H.R.S. Loan Company and owner of Patricia’s Picture Frames.

He was a loving, compassionate, and kindhearted man and anyone who met him was never a stranger. Nufo was an avid reader who loved music, dancing, traveling, fishing, and spending time in his beloved backyard cottage.

Nufo’s greatest passion was his family and the friends who he called brothers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Esperanza Tamez, daughters Patricia Tamez-Munson (Bobby R.) and Diana Tamez-Walters, grandchildren Katherine, Austin and Nikole Munson, and his four-legged companions, Tango & Yoshi. Siblings include Porfirio (Anabella†) Caballero, Thelma (Otilo†) Benavides, Hortencia (Hilario†) Cardenas, and Adriana (Manuel†) Morales along with numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Arnulfo was preceded in death by his son, Arnulfo P. Tamez, son-in-law, Jose E. “Joey” Muñoz, and parents Arnulfo and Maria C. Tamez.

Visitation services will be Friday, January 25th from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, a rosary will be recited at 7 pm. A private church service will be held at a later date.

Tio was an amazing man. Loving to his family and kind to all. Stern when needed, but always with a caring heart. He knew how party, and I loved his dance moves! He always cared for all his nephews and nieces with genuine love. A man to be admired and emulated. I will remember him with a smile. Shine in heaven Tio! You will be missed.

My Tio Nufo was a wonderful, caring, happy, and loving man. He was funny, he was quick to lend a helping hand, he was a great dancer, and he love his family passionately and put them first always. Thank you Tio for allowing me to experience trips to the lake, numerous pony rides in the park, hours of fun jumping on huge trampolines, summers of swimming at the caves of Las Turbinas with its beautiful waterfalls, but most of all...for having enough love in your heart that always included me. I will never forget you. Tia, I send you my deepest condolences for the loss of your beloved husband. Patsy and Diana, I am so sorry for the loss of your amazing Dad and for your heavy hearts—he loved you so, and for the loss of a one-of-a-kind Grand Dad to his grandchildren. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. With all my love, Linda (Jerry) Thomas
