Antonio “Tony” Castillo Jr., 84, of Laredo, Texas passed away Friday, February 7, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born and raised in Laredo. In his early years, Tony was a proud migrant worker in Grafton, North Dakota and a radio personality for many years at KVOZ Radio Station in Laredo. Tony and Maria Socorro married in 1972, where together they raised six children. Tony was known to be a hardworking, family-oriented man who enjoyed spending quality time at his Heaven away from Home, Casa Verde Acres, in Laredo. He had a passion for instilling the values with raising livestock at his “Ranchito.”
Tony and Maria are proud of their greatest legacy–Their Children and Grandchildren, who would like to acknowledge our parents encouragement, guidance, understanding, and most importantly, their unconditional Love.
As we reflect on your life, we appreciate how much you have given us and how little you have asked in return. Thank you for being such wonderful parents. You will forever be in our Hearts and we will cherish all the memories.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Castillo, Sr. and Jesusita R. Castillo; siblings, Carlos Castillo, Sr., Dolores Mares; niece, San Juanita Enriquez, and nephew, Carlitos Castillo, III.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years of marriage Maria Socorro Castillo; children Patricia (Ben Garcia) Castillo, Teresita (Denny Bradford) Castillo, Sylvia C. (Roel) Gonzalez , Susie (Fernando Jr.) Chavarria, Antonio (Rosa Santos) Castillo, III, and Victoria (Angel) Tapia; siblings Pedro A. (Epifania) Castillo, Juan M. (Alicia) Castillo, Maria G. (Geronimo) Enriquez, Jose Luis (Araceli) Castillo, and Lucille (Rodolfo) Leyva; 22 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.
The family will be receiving guests Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at Fred Dickey Funeral Home, 1320 Trey Dr., from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Holy Rosary will start at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. The funeral mass will start at 10:00 am. Interment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Antonio Castillo, III, Jack Woodlee, Marianne Carrillo, Matthew Woodlee, Hilario Ramon, Jr., Alberto Vergara, Jr., Andrew D. Gonzalez, Jacob Gonzalez, Ben Garcia, Denny Bradford, Roel Gonzalez, Fernando Chavarria, Jr. and Angel Tapia.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Juan M. Castillo, Pedro A. Castillo, and Jose Luis Castillo.

Our most remembered memories are two Easters spent with the Castillo Family at the Ranchito on Casa Verde Road. Mr Castillo and his wife were always the perfect hosts. The familiar voice at Home Depot, May I help you Mr. Garza was always a you made my day event. He had his way at putting you at ease and making you feel important and that you were the only one there.
