Anna Laura Rubio, 66, entered into eternal rest on, Friday, October 21, 2022.
Anna was a loving daughter and sister, devoted wife, caring mother, dedicated grandmother and great grandmother and a dear friend to many. Anna was a 1976 graduate of Laredo Junior College School of Nursing. Anna began working for Mercy Hospital in 1978 where her passion for nursing and her commitment to the sick in her community took flight. After several years at Mercy Hospital she was appointed Head Nurse of the MICU department where she also served as Home Infusion Coordinator. Prior to the opening of the new Mercy Hospital, now known as Laredo Medical Center, she was asked to serve on the architectural and design team for the new ICU department. During her employment at Laredo Medical Center she served as Director for Home Health and Hospice Services. After a desire to return to patient care, she served as Case Manager. Anna enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She had an infectious smile and laughter, not to mention a sense of humor all her own. She loved her family dearly (and all of their pets), she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow and prosper. Anna leaves behind an immense love, a lifetime of memories and a legacy that will carry on through our lives. She will be eternally missed.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents Adelfa Duarte and Edmundo Duarte.
