Obituary

Amelia Garibay, 83, entered into eternal rest on, Saturday, January 29, 2022.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco & Maria de la Luz Godinez; siblings, Tina Sanchez, Virginia Zarate, Lorenzo Godinez, and Marilu Rodriguez.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Febe Iosue, Judith (Ramon) Zapata, Ruben (Sophia) Garibay, Sharon (Rodney) Harris, Nephtali (Carolina) Garibay; father of her children, Francisco Garibay; 13 grandchildren, Israel Molina, Benjamin Molina, Damaris Molina, Jacob Iosue, Eli Zapata, Keila Garibay Harris, Brian Harris, Abigail Garibay, Isaac Garibay, Rochelle Garibay, Donelle Garibay, Melina Garibay, and Eileen Garibay; 2 great grandchildren, Benji Molina, and Emma Molina;  siblings, Francisca Zapata, Jesus Godinez, and David (Soledad) Godinez; as well as numerous other family and friends.

The family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Prayer Service will be officiated at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Sinai Presbyterian Church located at 420 Washington St. Laredo, Texas 78040. The Church Service will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow to the City of Laredo Cemetery.

Primos, mi más sentido pésame, les mando un fuerte abrazo. Mi tía querida, mi tía consentida, amaba las historias que contaba, cuando se reunían todos mis tíos, las anécdotas que le causaban tanta risa al recordar la infancia y juventud junto a mi mamá, esa risa que terminaba en un ataque de tos, y corría a llevarle un vaso de agua.
