It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Amber Johns, beloved mother, sister, and friend, who left this world on November 18, 2025.
Amber was born in Brunswick, Georgia, the second of three children of John W. Bailey and Nelda J. Schoonover. From a young age, she carried a gentle spirit and a deep love for caring for others. She later graduated as a practitioner nurse, dedicating her career to working with children, something she cherished deeply. Her compassion, patience, and kindness made her a comfort to every child and family she cared for.
Amber was the devoted mother of William Johns, whom she loved with all her heart. She was an animal lover through and through, often rescuing dogs and giving them a safe and loving home. Anyone who knew Amber remembers her warm smile, a smile she carried with her even through difficult times.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of kindness, love, and gentle strength will continue to live on in the hearts she touched. May she rest in peace.
In celebration of Amber’s wonderful life, a memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 5pm – 9pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services. A prayer service will be officiated at 7pm.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 1320 Trey Dr., Laredo, Texas 78041, (956) 723-3611. For those wishing to express their condolences, you may do so online at www.freddickey.com
