Agustin “Augie” Mendoza, Sr., 90, entered into eternal rest, Monday, November 14, 2022. A quiet man, but his silence could speak volumes. We may not remember the words he spoke, but the memories of his generosity and what he stood for will forever stay in our hearts.
Mr. Mendoza is preceded in death by his parents; Marcelino Mendoza and Lucinda G. Mendoza, daughter; Leticia Araceli Mendoza, granddaughter; Roxanna Regino who he raised as his daughter and sister; Juanita Medina.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years of marriage; Anna L. Mendoza, children; Agustin (Rosie) Mendoza, Jr., Victor (Juanita P.) Mendoza, Lilian I. (Tom+) Brady, Lizzette Gonzalez (Joey Guerra) also Rossy A. Benavides who he raised as his daughter; 8 grandchildren; Mitchelliz Mendoza, Agustin (Cristina) Mendoza, III., Celina (Felipe) Menchaca, Jackie Gonzalez, Gonzalo (Roxy) Gonzalez, Jr., Victor (Cindy) Mendoza, Jr., Amy (David) Barrett and David Rodriguez; 30 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren; brother; Juan “Sonny” Francisco Mendoza; as well as nieces, nephews, and other family members that will greatly miss him.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 19, 2022 from the funeral home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 8:30 am. Interment will follow immediately at the Laredo City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Agustin Mendoza, III., Victor Manuel Mendoza, Jr., Felipe Hernandez, Bryan Benavides, Brandon Benavides, Eddie Benavides, Steven Menchaca and Ricky Menchaca. Honorary Pallbearers are: Agustin Mendoza, Jr., Victor Mendoza and Felipe Menchaca.
