Adriana M. Montemayor, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family. God blessed her and her family with 97 years of a loving, fulfilling life. Her life was a testament to strength, independence, and unconditional love.
Born in Floresville, Texas to Marcelina Rodriguez and Valeriano Medina, Adriana grew up in a close-knit family where she learned the values of hard work and resilience. She carried those lessons throughout her life as a homemaker and seamstress at the local downtown sewing company, raising her children with unwavering dedication. Adriana took pride in caring for her family on her own, embodying the role of a strong and independent mother.
She had a passion for embroidery and gardening, that she instilled in her children and grandchildren, finding joy in creating beauty both with her hands and in the world around her. She cherished her time as a seamstress, where her skill and artistry touched many.
Adriana’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a loving grandmother who helped raise her grandchildren, instilling in them the same values of love, perseverance, and care that defined her own life.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Ernesto) Perusquia, and her sons, Gerardo (Consuelo) Montemayor and Jesus (Linda) Montemayor. She is also survived by her sister, Juana Medina, and sister-in-laws Hortencia Medina and Magalena Medina.
Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Tania (Raul) Recio, Nadia Perusquia, Jesus (Kaylee) Montemayor Jr., Alex Montemayor, Julissa Montemayor, Elva Natali Montemayor, Gerardo (Isaura) Montemayor Jr., Ricardo (Alexia) Montemayor, and Vivian Montemayor; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Jaden Recio, Adele Recio, Lia Recio, Luna Recio, Cesar Montemayor, and Carson Montemayor.
Adriana is preceded in death by her parents, Marcelina Rodriguez and Valeriano Medina; her son, Ricardo Montemayor Jr.; her brothers, Jesus Medina, Ventura Medina, Antonio (Graciela) Medina, and Severiano (Guadalupe) Medina; and her sisters, Constancia (Vicente) Flores and Maria (Bonifacio) Perales.
Adriana Montemayor will be remembered for her quiet strength, her artistry with needle and thread, her love of nature, and most of all, her devotion to her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
