Abelina G. Blough

Abelina Garcia Borregito Blough at the age of 97 born October 27, 1913 in Santo Tomas, Texas, a faithful servant went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, October 16,2011, in the morning. Abelina, La Hermana Blough, known by church members, Borregito, and Manina by her friends and acquaintances worked for many years for Mr. & Mrs. Ed Mann, at SH Kress and CAA where she finally retired. During her life time she was an active church member, Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana, constantly working with Children, Youth, WMU (Femenil) and other activities. She made a point to visit the elderly, feed, clothe the needy and assist economically. Those who knew her know so. She is preceded in death by her father, Jesus Blanco Garcia, mother, Zenaida Castaneda Garcia; maternal parents, Leocadio and Juanita Castaneda, Uncle, Arnulfo Castaneda, brother, Adalberto Garcia, sisters, Raquel Garcia, Zenaida Garcia Castillo, and other relatives. Abelina Borregito is survived by her son Raul (Olga G. Castillo) Garcia, grandson, Raul Garcia, Jr., granddaughter, Christina Garcia, her sister Edna Garcia, nephews, Victor Manuel (Rosa Maria Uribe) Oliveros, Samuel (Lupita Guajardo) Oliveros, Samuel Castillo; Irene (Robert) Hill, Cesiah (Roman) Perez, and Raquel Martinez, friend and longtime caretaker. Family members will receive friends and family Thursday, October 20,2011 at Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana, 1320 San Bernardo Ave., Laredo, TX 78041, and corner of Coke and San Bernardo in front of Wendy’s downtown, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 pm. Pastor Dorso Maciel will officiate the service beginning at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21,2011 at 9:30 am following interment at the City Cemetery.
